Volunteer at the Corona Children’s Orchestra Summer Seminario – July 8th-20th.  We are looking for Violin, Viola, Cello, Clarinet, Sax, Trumpet and Trombone volunteer teaching artists!

Volunteer at our Summer Seminario

Come help our students take a bog leap this summer by helping in our Summer Seminario, which will take place from July 8th-20th in Corona.  This year the orchestra will prepare an arrangement of Pictures at an Exhibition, and if time allows, we will continue working on the first movement of Capriol Suite, for string orchestra, by Peter Warlock.

Sign up for a one-day shift or all 10 days for strings.  You can help with either/or both first and second violins, and even violas!  Winds will work on Tuesdays and Fridays for 2 hours.

Our students will need help in different areas and levels:  from technique and tuning, to sight-reading, interpretation and expression.

We’re using VolunteerSpot (the leading online signup and reminder tool) to organize our upcoming activity.

Support

The Corona Youth Music Project programs have served over 250 children in its first year.  We need your support to reach our 2014 goal:  To provide opportunities for 500 children in Corona to plan an instrument in an orchestra. In order to reach that goal, we need to start now.  In 2012 the orchestra will open spaces for woodwinds and more string players.  We will also start two new pilot Pre-Orchestra programs in Corona. Your support is essential.

If you have interest in supporting further the tuition-free Corona Youth Music Project’s programs, please contact Alvaro F. Rodas, CYMP Director, or send a check payable to
